Outreach and Libreng Paaral Program: Christmas for a cause at Barangay Alegria, Alabel, Saranggani Province

"Christmas is not all about receiving, it's about sharing." This year will not be complete for the Goldenstate College family without sharing the blessings that came to the institution to those people who are in need. Last December 10, 2016, Goldenstate College together with the Goldenstate Little College and NiVo Valley Farms Inc. organized their annual Outreach and Libreng Paaral program a Christmas for a cause activity held at Nivo Valley Farm, Brgy. Alegria, Alabel, Saranggani Province.
This annual event was spearheaded by Sir. John Ralph Manilay, MBA, Head of Development Office of Goldenstate College and was assisted by some of the faculty and staff who are task to organize and supervise the said event. Around nine o' clock in the morning, the venue was already flocked by the eager beneficiaries of Barangay Alegria and some of them even came from the farthest purok just to avail the aids and services prepared by the institution. The program officially started at around half past nine when Sir John Ralph Manilay gave his short but meaningful welcome address and was followed by a dance number performed by some of the pupils of Goldenstate Little College who also enthusiastically participated the program.
One of the highlights of the outreach program includes free registration to those who would like to take advantage of free TESDA scholarship programs. The most awaited portion of the event was the distribution of food packs and hygiene kit. They were all smiles when each recipient was handed 2 pairs of new slippers, each for a kid and adult, five kilos of rice, canned goods and instant noodles. Free consultation and medication were also provided to those who need medical assistance. "We are so thankful that they were given free consultation for it helped them alleviate their health related problems." said by Mrs. Flora Manganohoy, a resident of Brgy. Alegria.
In statement Mr. John Ralph Manilay said, “Community outreach program range in size and scope but is sure always produces a magnanimous result” He also added that giving back to the community can make a huge difference even in our own little way, since giving is the true essence of Christmas.
The breeze of Christmas is essential to those people who are in need of love and care. Goldenstate College expresses this love through offering these services and goods. It was said the more you give, the more you receive.
